01 - Preheat oven to 375°F, or prepare a medium-hot fire in your fireplace with a grill grate.
02 - Place almonds in a dry skillet over medium heat. Toast, stirring often, for 3–4 minutes until golden and fragrant. Roughly chop the toasted almonds.
03 - In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and sea salt until smooth.
04 - Spread a thin layer of the butter mixture over each slice of bread.
05 - Sprinkle each slice generously with chopped toasted almonds and chocolate chips.
06 - Place bread slices on a baking sheet or a grill-safe pan if using the fireplace.
07 - Toast in the oven for 6–8 minutes, or over the fire until the edges are crisp and the chocolate chips have softened.
08 - Serve warm, optionally dusted with extra cinnamon or a drizzle of honey.
